Very chic, as-new, Italian leather backgammon board, 2020s

A very chic example of a hand-made leather board from the famous Italian backgammon maker Renzo Romagnoli. It shows absolutely no signs of wear - and is in as-new condition. Probably dating from around 2024, it is a wooden-framed game, covered in rich red leather inside and out, with a beautiful cream leather playing surface with red and black leather marquetry (inlaid leather) 'points'. The trademark Renzo Romagnoli magnetic locking mechanism is hidden in the steel handles and completely invisible. Dimensions (board open) : W 50cms (20"), H 39cms (15") - excluding handle. The game is in as-new condition with no absolutely no signs of use. It has clearly never been played on. The dice and the playing pieces were still in their wrappers when I got the board (removed for photography). The black and white pearlised acrylic playing pieces measure 30mm (1 1/4") in diameter. The game comes with two lovely leather-covered dice cups. This is an exceptionally beautiful backgammon game, hand-made in Italy by one of the great names, known for the quality of their workmanship and materials. It would be at home as a very elegant display board - or perhaps as a lovely gift, as it is indistinguishable from new (it even has its original white presentation box). A similar game to this from Renzo Romagnoli today is priced at 995€ ($1,200).
